Programs
Every child deserves a real chance. And no family should have to fight alone to give them one. That conviction is what connects every program and partnership YaraStar is part of.
YARASTAR FOUNDATION’S CAMP
Treasured Talents Camp is YaraStar's signature program — a fully inclusive summer camp where children with special needs and diverse abilities come to do what every child deserves to do: play, create, connect, and be completely themselves.
We partner with local volunteers, churches, community organizations, and specialists to make it happen. The camp is Christ-centred and welcoming to all.
About Treasured Talents
Treasured Talents Camp is built around one conviction: that every child has something to offer, and that a good environment will help it emerge.
Over four days, children explore, create, move, and make friends — in a space designed specifically to work for them. Sensory-friendly activities. One-on-one support throughout. A volunteer-to-camper ratio high enough that no child is ever just getting through the day.
The week closes with a celebration open to families that’s built for joy.
NEURO-DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP
YaraStar provides scholarships to families of children with special needs who are participating in the Advanced Doman Method Program. The scholarship is designed to protect consistency — because in neurodevelopmental therapy, consistency is everything.
We aim to support at least twelve families per year. If your child is already on the Doman Program, speak with your coach about applying for a YaraStar Scholarship.
About Doman International
Doman International works from a straightforward premise: every child with special needs deserves a real chance at reaching their potential. Through the Doman Method, parents and caregivers are trained to implement a structured neurodevelopmental program at home — building cognitive, physical, speech, and social development through daily, consistent work.
YaraStar's scholarship program exists to help families who are already on this path keep going — without having to choose between the program and everything else.
RWANDA PARTNERSHIP
In Rwanda, YaraStar currently provides full care support for three children diagnosed with micro-encephalitis, and secondary school support for four young men. We are working to expand this partnership — bringing therapy, education support, and community resources to more families through Ubumwe Community Center.
About Ubumwe Community Center Rwanda
Ubumwe means unity. The centre operates on the belief that disability does not diminish a person's ability to contribute — it just changes what support is needed. More than 400 children and adults with a wide range of disabilities come through Ubumwe for counselling, primary education, vocational training, literacy, computer skills, sign language, and workshop employment. It is a community, not just a programme.
NIGERIAN PARTNERSHIP
In Nigeria, YaraStar provides tertiary education support to children of widowed parents, in partnership with the Grief to Grace Ministry. Education does not erase loss — but it changes what is possible for a child who has already been through too much.
About Grief to Grace Ministries
Grief to Grace was founded by a widow. It is built on James 1:27 — the instruction to care for orphans and widows — and it takes that instruction practically: counselling, resources, and empowerment programs for widows and children in rural Nigerian communities. The Ministry offers both a spiritual foundation and a tangible path forward.
