How We Got Started

About YaraStar Foundation

The YaraStar Foundation was formed in honor of Yara’s life and legacy; to bring hope, healing, and help to children in need within our societies. One of the ways we do this is by supporting access to specialized programs for children with special needs, to increase their intellectual and physical capabilities beyond worldly expectations.

Programs we Support

Treasured Talents Camp

An inclusive camp experience where children including those with special needs are free to explore, create, and thrive in a joyful space. With a high volunteer-to-camper ratio, sensory-friendly activities, and a focus on creativity and fun, the camp is designed to meet diverse needs while helping each child discover the treasure within.

Doman International

Through this organization, parents and caretakers worldwide are educated about the Doman Method®. The goal of this method is for each child to advance their cognitive, physical, speech, and social development.

Ubumwe Community Center

Ubumwe Community Center in Rwanda strives to help people with disabilities find their abilities. The Ubumwe Community Center serves more than 400 children and adults with counseling, primary education, vocational training and workshop employment.

Grief to Grace Ministries

The Ministry provides resources, counseling, and empowerment programs to widows and children in rural communities in Nigeria. It is the aim of the Ministry to give these women and their children an education & foundation of Christ on which to build their faith, and a more tangible foundation on which to build their futures.
