An Autism Success Story: Bashir’s Growing Independence and Confidence
A Mother’s Steady Commitment Through Autism Support
Bashir lives with his mother, who carries the full responsibility of caring for her children, including Bashir. Each day, she dedicates up to five hours to supporting his development, believing deeply in his ability to grow and mature. Over time, this commitment has created a rhythm of structure, learning, and encouragement that Bashir responds to with increasing confidence.
Working alongside Doman International, Bashir’s program has focused on building practical skills that support learning, independence, and emotional regulation.
“My only hope is to see my child independent.”- Bashir’s mom
sustaining hope, supporting growth
As Bashir’s progress became more visible, continuing his program remained essential. Support from YaraStar Foundation helped his family stay consistent in this work, allowing Bashir’s development to continue without interruption.
This support strengthened the foundation already in place for Bashir to thrive, thereby helping his mother remain focused on daily implementation and long-term goals.
bashir’s progress Touches Every Part of his Life
Over the last three years, Bashir has made remarkable strides. His reading comprehension has grown, and he is now learning mathematics, including basic arithmetic. He types independently, forming words and short phrases on the computer. His speech has become clearer and more fluent, supported by a growing vocabulary.
Beyond academics, Bashir is more independent at home. He cleans his room, helps with chores, and takes pride in caring for his surroundings. His ability to differentiate objects has improved, his emotional regulation is stronger, and temper tantrums have become far less frequent. He is calmer, happier, and enjoys running alongside his brother which builds both stamina and connection.
a future filled with possibilities
The long-term hope for Bashir is clear: returning to school alongside peers and thriving with greater independence. His continued progress in communication, learning, and social maturity is helping pave that path.
Bashir’s encouraging journey shows how steady guidance and sustained encouragement can shape an autism success story rooted in independence.
