When Dedication Meets Support: Charlotte’s Story

Being born with Down Syndrome meant Charlotte developed at a rate slower than her peers. Her family however knew that the right therapy and support could help her grow into the young lady she was meant to be, just like her younger sister, who also has Down Syndrome.

When the family began the Doman Method® program a year ago, they began to see immediate improvements that gave them so much hope for their daughter’s future.

Seeing the impact of the program on their daughter’s overall wellbeing kept them going daily.

Financial pressures, however, made sustaining the program challenging, especially while supporting their older children at university.

Charlotte’s mother shared:
“Receiving the YaraStar scholarship was a huge relief. It meant we could fully focus on Charlotte and her sister without worrying about finances. We felt joy and hope for the first time in a long while.”

Charlotte awarded a scholarship to continue therapy

With guidance from Doman International’s therapy program, Charlotte has made remarkable strides. Her language, cognitive, and physical abilities are steadily improving. She is learning to read with greater fluency and engage in physical activities, moving closer to age-level skills.

Charlotte’s future goals are ambitious but attainable: improving her language, reading, and physical abilities, including running and more advanced physical activities. With continued support, she is poised to reach age-level cognitive milestones and enjoy greater independence.

Charlotte’s journey is one of balance—her family holding hope, making sacrifices, and celebrating her victories along the way. With the right program and timely support, she is building skills for independence that once felt out of reach. Her story reminds us that every child carries potential waiting to be nurtured.
