A Family’s Dedication and Daily Sacrifice: Fabiana’s Story
When Fabiana missed key milestones as an infant, the family knew something was wrong. When she received a diagnosis of Global Developmental Delay, they knew, however, that it never meant denial.
Thankfully, Fabiana lives in a home filled with love, sacrifice and determination, so very soon her family sought help to get her on track.

Her mother, Fabiana’s full-time caregiver, devotes her days to guiding her through the Doman Method® program - a therapy that incorporates physical, intellectual and physiological activities to stimulate brain development. With two other children at home and no insurance coverage for this holistic therapy, the family faced difficult decisions. Yet, they pressed forward, committed to giving Fabiana every chance to grow and thrive.
Through YaraStar’s scholarship, Fabiana gained access to continue on the Doman International’s specialized program. This not only eased a heavy financial cost but also renewed the family’s energy and confidence.
“Fabiana is now crawling many times down the incline plane and beginning to crawl off. Her manual ability of grabbing objects and holding them has also improved,”
shared one of her Doman coaches.
Today, Fabiana is learning to move with purpose; crawling, grasping, and exploring her world in new ways as well as preparing for new challenges including a respiratory program to strengthen her body and mobility exercises to reach her “crawling victory”. Milestones her parents have prayed for. These daily triumphs, though small to some, represent enormous steps forward in Fabiana’s story.
Together, we can keep opening doors of possibility for children like Fabiana.
